 | Arrangements for Carl Eaves |
Our beloved friend and deacon, Bro. Carl Eaves, passed away last Thursday evening.
His visitation will be today, Monday, June 6th from 1-8 PM.
His funeral will be tomorrow, Tuesday, June 7th, at Noon.
We are deeply grieved by this loss, but remain sure and hopeful in Christ and the resurrection.
Here is Bro. Mat's note from Sunday's bulletin:
Dear Church Family,
As we gather this morning we worship God in an especially somber tone. Our dear friend, brother, and deacon Carl Eaves is now with the Lord. I am deeply saddened by this, as I am sure so many of you are as well. I was struck by the kindness and graciousness of Carl immediately upon my arrival at Sunnyside. He was always quick with a hug as he stood in the foyer handing out bulletins.I pray we will continue on in his kindness.
When I arrived at his house on Thursday night I saw, by his chair, an open Bible with a Sunday school book tucked inside. What a legacy! I pray that we all, when the Lord chooses to take us home, will leave this world with our Bibles open.
May we honor Carl today by kindness and love, and by honoring the word of the Lord in worship. I think that's exactly how he would have wanted it.
